On the December 27th, 2014 a junior flag Football tournament will take place, with 12 participating teams from all over the country. The tournament will be held at Arena Ursynów - a prime Warsaw sports venue. Male and female players aged 12-17 will be competing for a trophy. Teams come from Katowice, Kraków, Lublin, Olsztyn, Prażmów, Przemyśl, Szczytno, Radom, Toruń i Warszawa. 22 games will be played, 18 group phase games on two pitches simultaneously and then, the play-off games.
Participating teams are: Angels Toruń, AZS Silesia Rebels, Radom Centrum, Gimnazjum nr 42 Kraków, Green Ducks Radom, Olsztyn Lakers, Prażmów Pistols, Przemyśl Bears, Szczytno Sixers, Tytani Lublin, Warsaw Eagles i Warsaw Sharks.
The final game will be preceded by a show game of female Warsaw Sirens team against the team of PLFA referees.
Everyone attending the event will get a chance to get to know American and flag football, take part in fun games on football track, and win prizes funded by LOT Polish Airlines, Tarczynski S.A., Eventim and Polish League of American Football. There will be also a cheerleading show presented by Warsaw Elite Cheerleaders.
The National Day of Flag Football is the finale of action "Leave the remote, grab the football" organized by the Polish League of American Football, and co-financed by the Polish Ministry of Sports and Tourism. Presentations and shows of flag football were held in schools all over the country thanks to the engagement and participation of Polish teams. The aim of the action was to popularize the discipline and healthy, active lifestyle. During the project over 30 000 promotional leaflets and handbooks were distributed among students, their families and physical education teachers.
